I’m not new to the concept of being in a constant state of a creative block, and it happens to the best of us a little to often than we’d like to admit. Here are some of the things that help me emerge out of a creative slump.
3. Pinterest
Pinterest over the past few years has probably become one of my most used applications. I tend to go on Pinterest a couple of times through the week to explore other people’s boards to help inspire me again perhaps in terms of art, or writing or even jewellery making. There is a plethora of images to go through, constantly coming to you one after the other, so whenever I’m in a slump I make boards from some of the images I’ve seen.
2. Nature
Going on frequent walks usually helps me clear my mind when I’m experiencing a creative slump. What I like to do is carry a notebook or use my notes app and write down words that describe the emotions I feel in that moment. I also like to go to parks and just record some of the sounds that I hear, so that when I get back home I review everything and try to start writing about the things I saw or heard.
1. Watching music videos
I have a designated YouTube playlist dedicated to some of my favourite music videos that spark my creative outbursts. Here are some of my go to music videos is 舞い落ちる花びら (Fallin’ Flower) by SEVENTEEN, 독 : Fear by SEVENTEEN, Scaredy Cat by DPR IAN, So Beautiful by DPR IAN, when the party’s over by Billie Eilish, Solitude by HA:TFELT, Killing Me by CHUNG HA, WAITING by WOODZ and 0X1=LOVESONG by TOMORROW X TOGETHER feat. Ikuta Lilas.
Some nice idea here!
